Blue-green algae is unusual on Lake Superior but experts say that might not last
Lake Superior is known for its cool, blue beauty, but the largest freshwater lake in the world (by surface area) has a new antagonist: blue-green algae. The most recent bloom confirmed in the Thunder Bay (Ontario) District was reported on Lake Superior at Shuniah’s Birch Beach on July 28.
